Vietnam to Paraguay visa requirements

Vietnamese ordinary passport holders need a visa to enter Paraguay for tourism. There is no eVisa or visa-on-arrival channel for ordinary passports. You must apply through the online portal (mre.gov.py/visasenlinea) and then attend an in-person interview at a Paraguayan embassy or consulate. Only diplomatic, official and service passport holders get 30 days visa-free. As of 2026-06-02, Paraguay's immigration authority (Dirección General de Migraciones) lists Vietnam under Resolución 210 of 15/03/2023 as "REQUIERE VISA" for both tourist and longer stays. Vietnam's visa exemption applies ONLY to holders of diplomatic, official or service passports (30 days). Ordinary/tourist passport holders must obtain a visa in advance. Several travel-agency aggregator sites incorrectly claim Vietnamese nationals can "enter with only a passport" — this conflates the diplomatic exemption with ordinary travel, so it should be disregarded. The process is two-step: an online application via Paraguay's Ministry of Foreign Affairs portal (VisasEnLinea), followed by a scheduled in-person consular interview at a Paraguayan embassy/consulate (e.g., the embassy accredited for Vietnam). Required documents include a passport valid at least 6 months, photo, proof of funds, accommodation/hotel reservation, round-trip flight itinerary, an apostilled/legalized police clearance certificate, and often a letter of invitation. Authorities recommend applying at least 30 days before travel. There is no eVisa issued for entry and no visa-on-arrival for Vietnamese ordinary passports.
