Vietnam to Ghana visa requirements
Vietnamese ordinary passport holders need a visa to enter Ghana. Vietnam is not on Ghana's visa-exempt or visa-on-arrival lists. As of 2026 the recommended channel is Ghana's official eVisa/ETA portal launched by the Ghana Immigration Service; an embassy/consular visa remains an alternative where no eVisa is yet available for your category. A Vietnam (VN) ordinary passport holder traveling to Ghana for tourism requires a visa obtained before travel. Ghana is in West Africa, not the Schengen area, so Schengen 90/180 and ETIAS rules do not apply. Vietnam is not among Ghana's visa-exempt nationalities (which cover African Union member states, ECOWAS, and a short list including Singapore and several Caribbean states) and is not eligible for unconditional visa on arrival. In 2026 the Ghana Immigration Service brought online an official electronic visa portal (evisa.immigration.gov.gh) covering tourist, business, student and transit categories, with an Eligibility Checker by nationality. The eVisa is the recommended route for most travelers: it is applied for fully online with passport scan and photo, typically issued within about 72-96 hours of approval, and the sample tourist eVisa shows a 3-month validity window with a 30-day single-entry stay. A traditional visa from a Ghanaian embassy/consulate is the fallback channel and historically costs about USD 100 (single entry) / USD 180 (multiple entry) at standard service. Because the eVisa system is still in a transitional rollout, travelers should confirm their nationality's eligibility on the official portal before booking and carry proof of onward travel, accommodation and yellow fever vaccination. Default verdict is visa-required via the eVisa channel; do not travel assuming visa-free or on-arrival entry.
