A US$10 tourist entry fee is collected in cash at the point of entry (exact change recommended). Travelers should carry a passport valid for the duration of stay (six months beyond departure is widely recommended and often enforced), proof of onward or return travel, and evidence of sufficient funds. Nicaragua launched an electronic immigration portal in 2026 and recommends online pre-registration; for ordinary visa-exempt tourists this is generally a recommendation rather than a strict prerequisite, but it is sensible to complete it before travel.
