Indonesia to Nepal visa requirements

Indonesian ordinary passport holders can get a Nepal tourist visa on arrival (VOA) at Tribhuvan International Airport (Kathmandu) and other entry points. No advance visa is required. You pay the fee in cash and may optionally pre-register online to speed up the process. Indonesia is not on Nepal's list of nationalities barred from visa on arrival, so Indonesian tourists are issued a tourist visa on arrival at Nepal's airports and land borders. Three duration tiers are available: 15 days (USD 30), 30 days (USD 50) and 90 days (USD 125), all multiple-entry. The fee is paid in cash (USD preferred) at the immigration counter, and one passport photo plus a completed arrival form are needed. Travelers may fill in Nepal's online pre-arrival visa form (often labeled "eVisa pre-registration") within 15 days before arrival and print the barcode receipt to skip the on-site form, but this is optional and is not a separate eVisa that must be approved before flying. Total tourist stay is capped at 150 days per calendar year. There is no Schengen or ETIAS involvement (Nepal is in South Asia).

/06 — The risks

Common refusal reasons

by frequency
/01
Indonesia not on the visa-on-arrival exclusion list
Nepal bars only a short list of nationalities (e.g. Afghanistan, Nigeria, Syria) from VOA; Indonesia is eligible, so no advance embassy visa is needed.
High
/02
Carrying insufficient USD cash
The fee must be paid in cash, ideally USD. Travelers relying on cards or only rupiah/NPR can face delays at the counter.
Medium
/03
Passport under 6 months validity
Immigration can refuse entry if the passport is not valid for at least 6 months beyond arrival.
Medium
/04
Misreading the optional online form as a mandatory eVisa
The online pre-registration only speeds up the VOA; it is not a separate approval required before boarding.
Low
/05
Exceeding the 150-day annual cap
Total tourist stay (including extensions) cannot exceed 150 days per calendar year, which can affect long-stay travelers.
