Indonesia to Japan visa requirements

Visa required unless you hold a registered Indonesian e-passport; registered e-passports get up to 15 days visa-free. Indonesian ordinary passport holders are visa-required by default. Japan's visa exemption for Indonesia applies only to Indonesian ICAO-compliant e-passports that have completed pre-departure visa-waiver registration with Japan's diplomatic missions in Indonesia or online through JAVES. Approved registration is valid for 3 years or until passport expiry, whichever comes first, and permits repeated Temporary Visitor entries for up to 15 days for short visits such as tourism, business meetings, and visiting family or friends. Non-e-passport holders, unregistered e-passports, stays over 15 days, work, study, paid activity, and other non-covered purposes require a visa before travel. Japan eVISA is available through accredited agencies for ordinary passport holders residing in Indonesia who are not exempt from short-term visas; it is limited to single-entry tourism, generally up to 90 days as issued, and exempt registered e-passport travelers do not need it. Visit Japan Web is a free recommended arrival-procedure tool, not a visa or visa-waiver registration.
