Spain to Chad visa requirements

Spanish passport holders need a visa for Chad, obtained online as an eVisa before travel. As of 11 May 2026, the eVisa is mandatory for all foreign visitors and must be applied for through the official government portal evisa.td. Spain is not on Chad's visa-exempt list, so there is no visa-free or visa-on-arrival channel. Chad requires Spanish (ES) ordinary passport holders to obtain a visa before arrival. Since 11 December 2024 Chad has operated an electronic visa (eVisa) system, and from 11 May 2026 the eVisa became mandatory for all foreign travelers, with paper/manual visas issued outside the system becoming invalid after 21 May 2026. Applications are submitted exclusively through the official portal at evisa.td, where the applicant creates an account, completes the form, uploads documents (passport, photo, accommodation proof, return ticket, proof of funds), pays the fee, and receives the visa electronically. The short-stay tourist eVisa is typically issued for a 30-day stay (some sources cite a multiple-entry option valid up to 90 days depending on purpose), with standard processing of about 10 business days. Chad is in Central Africa and is not part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required, and travelers must register with local police within 72 hours of arrival. Because Spain has no visa-waiver with Chad and no visa-on-arrival is offered to Spanish nationals, the conservative and correct verdict is eVisa (apply online in advance).
