Spain to Bangladesh visa requirements

Spanish ordinary passport holders can get a Visa on Arrival (VOA) at Bangladesh's main airports and land/sea ports for tourism, valid up to 30 days, single entry, for about USD/EUR 50-51 in cash. EU nationals are explicitly eligible. A traditional embassy visa (apply in advance in Spain) is the safer alternative since VOA is granted at the immigration officer's discretion. There is no consumer e-visa for tourists. As of mid-2026, a Spain (ES) ordinary passport holder needs a visa to enter Bangladesh, but Spain is on Bangladesh's Visa on Arrival (VOA) eligibility list as an EU/European nation. The VOA is issued for tourism, business or investment for a maximum of 30 days, single entry, and costs roughly USD 50-51 (EUR 51), payable only in cash (USD or EUR) at the immigration counter. It is available at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (Dhaka), Shah Amanat (Chittagong), Osmani (Sylhet) and at designated land and sea ports. The VOA is a discretionary facility, not a right: the immigration officer can refuse it, and travelers must show a valid passport (6+ months), a return/onward ticket, proof of accommodation or an invitation, and sufficient funds. Because of that discretion and the risk of long queues, securing a regular tourist visa in advance from the Embassy of Bangladesh in Madrid (or via BLS/consular channels) is the more reliable option for a planned trip. Bangladesh does NOT operate a public tourist e-visa system (the visa.gov.bd MRV portal is primarily for missions and specific categories), so eVisa is not a practical channel for Spanish tourists. Bangladesh is not part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply.
