Vietnam to Ukraine visa requirements

Vietnamese ordinary passport holders need a visa to enter Ukraine. Vietnam is NOT on Ukraine's eVisa eligible-country list (ASEAN states except Brunei and Vietnam qualify), so the eVisa channel is unavailable. You must apply in advance for a short-term type C visa at a Ukrainian embassy or consulate before travel. As of mid-2026, Ukraine grants neither visa-free entry nor eVisa access to holders of Vietnamese ordinary passports. Ukraine resumed its eVisa program on 19 February 2025 for roughly 45 designated countries, but Vietnam is explicitly excluded from that list. Therefore a Vietnamese citizen must obtain a traditional short-term type C (short-stay) visa from a Ukrainian diplomatic mission - in Vietnam this is the Embassy of Ukraine in Hanoi - before traveling. The short-stay type C visa permits a stay of up to 90 days within any 180-day period and is issued as single or multiple entry. Core requirements include a passport valid at least 3 months beyond the intended departure, a completed application, travel medical insurance with minimum EUR 30,000 coverage valid in Ukraine, proof of sufficient funds, proof of purpose (hotel bookings/itinerary) and a return/onward ticket. The standard consular fee is around USD 65 for regular service, doubled for expedited processing. Note that Ukraine remains under martial law due to the ongoing war; travelers should check current security and entry advisories before departure.
