Vietnam to Chad visa requirements

Vietnamese ordinary passport holders need a visa for Chad and must obtain it through Chad's official eVisa portal (evisa.td) before travel. As of 11 May 2026 the eVisa is the only valid channel; visa-on-arrival and manually issued authorizations have been abolished. A Vietnam ordinary passport holder traveling to Chad (Tchad) for tourism or a short visit requires a visa. Vietnam is not on Chad's visa-exemption list. Since December 2024 Chad has operated an official electronic visa system at evisa.td, and from 11 May 2026 the eVisa became the mandatory and exclusive method for obtaining an entry visa for ordinary passport holders — any visa issued outside the official platform is treated as invalid, and manual/on-arrival entry authorizations have been definitively abolished. The standard tourist eVisa is typically issued for a 30-day stay (single entry) and is valid for entry within 90 days of issue, with a government fee in the region of USD 100 plus service costs. Travelers must apply online in advance, upload a passport bio-page, a passport photo, proof of accommodation, and return/onward travel or proof of funds. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is mandatory for entry, and all foreign visitors must complete police registration within 72 hours of arrival. Because Chad has no Vietnamese diplomatic mission and vice versa, the online eVisa is the practical route; processing typically takes several business days, so apply well ahead of departure. Chad is in Central Africa and is not part of the Schengen area, so Schengen and ETIAS rules do not apply.
