Vietnam to Panama visa requirements

Vietnamese ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for tourism in Panama. They can enter visa-free and stay up to 90 days. Vietnam was added to Panama's visa-exemption (visa-free) list, and a bilateral Vietnam-Panama visa-waiver also covers ordinary passports. As of 2026, holders of an ordinary Vietnamese passport can travel to Panama for tourism or short visits without obtaining a visa in advance. Vietnam appears in Panama's 90-day visa-exemption category (in effect since 8 May 2012), and there is a reciprocal Vietnam-Panama visa-waiver arrangement. On arrival you receive a tourist entry stamp valid for up to 90 days. No application, eVisa, or fee is required before travel. You must still meet standard entry conditions: a passport valid (Panama generally requires at least 3-6 months of validity; carriers and immigration officers commonly enforce 6 months), proof of onward or return travel, proof of sufficient funds (immigration may ask for evidence of roughly US$500 or a valid credit card), and an address/accommodation in Panama. Note: several commercial visa-agent websites incorrectly state that Vietnamese citizens need a "stamped visa" for Panama; these are not authoritative and conflict with the official visa policy. The 90-day visa-free entry is the correct and current channel. Panama is NOT in the Schengen area, so Schengen 90/180 rules and ETIAS do not apply. For stays beyond 90 days or for work/residence, a separate visa or residence permit from a Panamanian consulate is required.
