Vietnam to Nigeria visa requirements

Yes, a Vietnamese ordinary passport holder needs a visa for Nigeria. Since 1 May 2025 the standard route for tourism is the Nigeria e-Visa (F5A Tourism), applied for online before travel. The Vietnam-Nigeria visa-waiver agreement covers only diplomatic and official passports, not ordinary ones. Vietnamese ordinary passport holders are not on Nigeria's visa-exemption list (which is limited to ECOWAS states and a few neighbours/agreement countries), so a visa is required for tourism. As of 1 May 2025 Nigeria operates an online e-Visa system administered by the Nigeria Immigration Service. Tourists apply for the F5A Tourism e-Visa via evisa.immigration.gov.ng, which is a single-entry visa valid for 90 days from issuance and permitting a stay of up to 30 days (non-extendable). Vietnam is not on Nigeria's e-Visa exclusion list, so Vietnamese nationals are eligible to apply online. Processing is typically around 48 hours when documentation is complete. The bilateral Vietnam-Nigeria visa-exemption agreement (effective November 2019) applies only to diplomatic and official passport holders and does not benefit ordinary tourists. Nigeria is not in the Schengen area, so Schengen 90/180 and ETIAS rules do not apply.
