Vietnam to Niger visa requirements

Vietnamese ordinary passport holders need a visa for Niger. The recommended option is the official Niger eVisa, which is available online to citizens of 200+ countries (including Vietnam) and grants a single entry of up to 30 days. A traditional visa from a Nigerien embassy is also possible, and a visa-on-arrival ("flyer visa") exists but requires advance police pre-approval and is not reliable for tourists. Vietnam is not on Niger's visa-exemption list (which mainly covers ECOWAS states plus a handful of others such as Chad, Hong Kong, Mauritania, Morocco and Tunisia), so a Vietnamese tourist must obtain a visa before or at arrival. Since November 2019 Niger has operated an electronic visa (eVisa) system through the Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DST) of the Ministry of Interior, open to citizens of more than 200 countries. The standard tourist eVisa is single-entry, valid for travel and allowing a stay of up to 30 days, at a cost of about US$102 (a 31-60 day version costs about US$203). Applicants complete the form and pay online, then enter Niger with the approved eVisa. A consular visa from a Nigerien diplomatic mission and a pre-approved visa-on-arrival ("flyer visa") at Niamey also exist, but the eVisa is the most accessible and predictable route for a Vietnamese passport holder. Niger is in West Africa and is NOT part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. Travelers should note that Niger currently carries severe security warnings (terrorism, kidnapping, and political instability), and yellow fever vaccination is mandatory for entry.
