Vietnam to North Macedonia visa requirements

A Vietnamese ordinary passport holder needs a visa to visit North Macedonia for tourism. There is no eVisa or visa on arrival for Vietnamese nationals, so the visa must be obtained in advance from a North Macedonian embassy or consulate. Important exception: if you already hold a valid multiple-entry Schengen Type C visa (or a valid US, UK, or Canada visa), you can enter visa-free for up to 15 days under a temporary measure in force through 31 December 2026. North Macedonia is a Western Balkans country and an EU candidate, but it is NOT part of the Schengen Area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply to entry into North Macedonia itself. Under North Macedonia's visa policy (Ministry of Foreign Affairs), Vietnam is not on the visa-exempt list, so Vietnamese ordinary passport holders must obtain a visa before travel. North Macedonia does not offer an eVisa or visa-on-arrival to Vietnamese citizens; applications are made in person at a diplomatic or consular mission. As there is no North Macedonian embassy in Vietnam, applicants typically apply at an accredited mission covering Vietnam (for example in Beijing or Ankara) or another nearest consulate. The standard short-stay (Type C) tourist visa costs EUR 60 and allows a stay of up to 90 days within any 180-day period. The single most useful shortcut for Vietnamese travelers is the visa-waiver-by-document rule: holders of a valid multiple-entry Schengen Type C visa, or a valid US, UK, or Canadian visa, or an EU/Schengen residence permit, may enter North Macedonia without a separate visa for up to 15 days per entry (total not exceeding 90 days in 180). The Schengen-visa channel is permanent policy; the US/UK/Canada-visa channel is a temporary decision valid 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2026. Conservatively, the baseline verdict for a Vietnamese passport with no qualifying third-country visa is visa-required.
