Vietnam to Cambodia visa requirements

Vietnamese ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for short tourist trips to Cambodia. Under the bilateral Cambodia-Vietnam visa-exemption agreement (in force since 1 January 2010, and reinforced by ASEAN reciprocity), they may enter visa-free and stay up to 30 days per visit. Cambodia and Vietnam are both ASEAN members and maintain a reciprocal bilateral visa-exemption agreement covering ordinary (as well as diplomatic and official) passports. A Vietnamese citizen holding an ordinary passport can fly or cross overland into Cambodia for tourism without any visa, e-Visa, or pre-registration, and remain for up to 30 days. The passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry. No fee applies to visa-free entry. If a traveler wants to stay longer than 30 days, they should either apply for the standard Cambodia e-Visa online (USD 30, tourist class T, 30-day single-entry stay, valid 90 days from issue) before arrival, or obtain a visa on arrival at international airports and major land borders (USD 30 tourist), both of which are extendable inside Cambodia. The 2025 Cambodian-Thai border tensions reduced the length of stay for some nationalities but did not affect the Vietnam exemption. Cambodia is not in the Schengen area, so Schengen 90/180 and ETIAS rules are irrelevant here.
