Taiwan (Chinese Taipei) to Iran visa requirements

Taiwan ordinary passport holders need a visa for Iran. Apply online for an Iran tourist eVisa before you travel. Iran is not visa-free for Taiwan, and although a visa on arrival technically exists, it is unreliable (frequent rejections and airline boarding refusals), so the eVisa is the recommended route. A Taiwan (TW) ordinary passport holder traveling to Iran for tourism requires a visa; there is no visa-free entry. The standard and recommended channel is the Iran tourist eVisa, applied for in advance through Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs eVisa portal (evisa.mfa.ir) or via a licensed Iranian travel agency. Taiwan is not on Iran's list of nationalities excluded from the eVisa/VOA (that list covers Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Canada, Colombia, Jordan, Pakistan, Somalia, the UK and the US), so Taiwanese travelers fall under the general eVisa category. The process typically issues an electronic authorization/grant that is then stamped (the physical visa is collected at an Iranian consulate or, where permitted, at the airport). The tourist visa generally allows a 30-day stay, extendable up to a total of 90 days inside Iran, with the visa grant valid roughly 90 days from issuance for entry. Government visa stamp fees are modest (around 10 EUR for tourism), but applicants pay additional service/processing fees and mandatory travel medical insurance (around 14-30 EUR), all payable in EUR or USD cash on collection. A visa on arrival is sometimes available at major airports but is risky and not recommended. Iran is not in the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply.
