Singapore to Congo (Dem. Rep.) visa requirements

Singapore passport holders need a visa to enter the Democratic Republic of the Congo. There is no visa-free or visa-on-arrival channel for Singaporeans. The standard route for a short tourist visit is the official electronic visa (eVisa) applied for in advance through the DGM portal, plus a mandatory entry fee paid at the border. A Singaporean ordinary passport holder is NOT visa-exempt for the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). DR Congo's only visa-free arrangements (up to 90 days) cover six regional African states (Burundi, Republic of Congo, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Zimbabwe), and Singapore is not among them; nor does Singapore have a visa-on-arrival arrangement. DR Congo launched an official electronic visa system (evisa.gouv.cd, run by the Direction Generale de Migration) announced in late 2024 and rolled out through 2025, which is now the standard channel for tourists. Applicants apply online before travel, providing a passport valid at least 6 months, a passport photo, accommodation/host details and a confirmed itinerary, and pay an online processing fee (commonly cited around USD 300-450) plus a mandatory entry/visa-stamp fee of about USD 90 (the VAP/Visa d'Entree) paid at the port of entry. The short-stay tourist eVisa is typically valid for a single entry with a stay of around 7 days, and the eVisa must be used within 3 months of issue. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is also mandatory for entry. DR Congo is in Central Africa and is NOT part of the Schengen area, so Schengen/ETIAS rules do not apply. Travelers should always confirm current fees and document requirements on the official portal or the nearest DRC embassy, as the eVisa system is new and fees/processing options change frequently.
