Do Singapore passport holders need a visa to visit Japan?
Visa-free up to 90 days. Use Visit Japan Web for QR-code entry. No 6-month extension privilege. Singapore ordinary passport holders enter Japan visa-free for up to 90 days for tourism, business meetings, and family visits. Singapore has been on Japan's visa exemption list since 1965, making it one of the longest-standing exemptions. Unlike Germany and France, Singapore does not have a 6-month reciprocity arrangement — the maximum visa-free stay is 90 days per entry. Visit Japan Web is the recommended digital pre-registration for immigration and customs at HND, NRT, KIX, FUK, CTS, NGO, and OKA. Japan's planned JESTA electronic travel authorization is targeted for fiscal year 2028 and is not required in 2026.
