Singapore to China visa requirements

Singapore ordinary passport holders can enter mainland China visa-free for up to 30 days under the reciprocal Singapore-China arrangement effective since 9 February 2024. This is a bilateral arrangement, not the temporary unilateral China visa-free policy that expires on 31 December 2026 for many other countries. Border officers may check that the purpose of travel is consistent with visa-free entry; carry invitation letters, air tickets and accommodation reservations if relevant. A Chinese visa is still required for work, study, news coverage, stays beyond 30 days, or activities outside the visa-free purpose. Chinese Embassy FAQ says an ordinary passport valid for at least the duration of the intended stay is needed. Since 20 November 2025, foreign nationals may complete the arrival card online before travel or at the port; paper arrival cards remain available for those who cannot complete it electronically. Travellers staying in private accommodation must register with local police within 24 hours; hotels handle registration automatically. Hong Kong and Macau are separate immigration jurisdictions.
