Malaysia to Uganda visa requirements

Malaysian citizens do NOT need a visa for Uganda. Malaysia is on Uganda's visa-exempt list (March 2026) for stays up to 3 months. Malaysian ordinary passport holders can enter Uganda visa-free for tourism for up to 3 months. Uganda added Malaysia to its visa-exempt country list under a visa-waiver policy announced in March 2026, which granted visa-free access to nationals of around 40 countries (including Malaysia, Singapore, the UAE, Ireland, Malta, Cyprus and Hong Kong SAR, alongside numerous African states). Travelers receive an entry stamp on arrival valid for up to 3 months (renewable in-country for tourism/business) with no visa or eVisa required beforehand. Importantly, this is a significant change: until early 2026, Malaysians had to obtain a USD 50 single-entry eVisa via the official portal visas.immigration.go.ug before travel, so older guidance still circulating online may be outdated. The single most important health requirement remains a valid Yellow Fever vaccination certificate (International Certificate of Vaccination), which is mandatory for entry into Uganda for all travelers aged 1 year and over; carry the physical yellow card. Beware of fraudulent third-party 'Uganda visa' websites charging inflated fees of USD 110-200 - no visa is required and the only official portal (if one ever were needed) is visas.immigration.go.ug. Travelers should still carry proof of onward/return travel, accommodation details and sufficient funds, as final admission is at the discretion of the immigration officer. Direct flights from Kuala Lumpur (KUL) to Entebbe (EBB) are not available; common one-stop routings are via Dubai (Emirates/flydubai), Doha (Qatar Airways), Addis Ababa (Ethiopian Airlines), Nairobi (Kenya Airways) or Istanbul (Turkish Airlines). Main destinations: Bwindi gorilla trekking, Queen Elizabeth and Murchison Falls National Parks, the source of the Nile at Jinja, and Kampala.
