Malaysia to Latvia visa requirements

Malaysian ordinary passport holders can travel to Latvia visa-free for tourism for up to 90 days within any 180-day period, because Latvia is part of the Schengen Area and Malaysia is on the EU visa-exempt list. Latvia is a member of the Schengen Area, and Malaysia (holders of ordinary/biometric passports) is one of the third countries whose nationals are exempt from the Schengen short-stay visa. ETIAS is NOT a visa; it is an online pre-travel authorization costing EUR 7 (free for under-18s and over-70s), valid up to three years. As of the verification date (June 2026), ETIAS is not yet in force, so no authorization is required to travel today, but travelers should check its status before departure. The EES (Entry/Exit System) biometric border registration has begun rollout and may apply at entry.
