Malaysia to Chile visa requirements

Malaysian ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for tourism in Chile. You are granted visa-free entry as a tourist for up to 30 days, issued under Chile's Permanencia Transitoria (transitory stay) permit on arrival. Malaysia is on Chile's list of visa-exempt nationalities for short tourist visits. On arrival you receive a Permanencia Transitoria (transitory stay) tourist permit. While the general tourist permit can run up to 90 days, Malaysia is specifically capped at a maximum of 30 days per the Chilean visa policy. No visa, eVisa, or prior authorization is required for an ordinary Malaysian passport. Chile is NOT part of the Schengen Area, so the European 90/180 short-stay rule and ETIAS do NOT apply. Your passport should be valid for the duration of stay (6 months' validity is the safe, commonly recommended standard). You should be prepared to show a return/onward ticket, proof of accommodation, and sufficient funds. Extensions beyond the granted period are possible through Chile's national migration service (SERMIG) for a fee, but the visa-free entry itself is free of charge. Travelers must complete any required entry/health declaration that may be in force at the time of travel.
