South Korea to Cyprus visa requirements

No visa needed. South Korean ordinary passport holders can enter Cyprus visa-free for tourism for up to 90 days within any 180-day period. Cyprus is an EU member but is NOT yet in the Schengen Area (as of mid-2026), so it applies its own national visa policy and ETIAS is not yet required for Cyprus. South Korea is on the Republic of Cyprus national visa-exemption list, so holders of ordinary Korean passports may travel to Cyprus for tourism or short business visits without a visa for up to 90 days in any 180-day period. Crucially, Cyprus is one of only two EU states (with Ireland) still outside the Schengen Area, so it maintains a separate visa regime: a Cypriot stay does not count against the Schengen 90/180 allowance and vice versa, and a Schengen visa is not required to enter Cyprus (though holders of valid multi-entry Schengen visas/permits may also enter). Because Cyprus is outside Schengen, the EU's ETIAS travel authorisation does NOT currently apply to Cyprus; ETIAS will only become relevant for Cyprus once it formally joins Schengen, which the government is targeting but had not completed as of mid-2026. Travelers should carry a passport valid for at least three months beyond the intended stay, proof of onward/return travel, accommodation and sufficient funds. The 90-day allowance is generous, but the period is counted on a rolling 180-day basis, so prior visits to Cyprus reduce the remaining balance. Always confirm against the Cyprus Ministry of Foreign Affairs before travel, as Cyprus's Schengen accession could change ETIAS applicability during 2026-2027.
