Japan to Oman visa requirements

Japanese ordinary passport holders can enter Oman visa-free for tourism for up to 14 days. No visa or pre-arrival registration is required for this short visit. As of 2026, Japan is on Oman's visa-exemption list (the first group of trusted nationalities), allowing Japanese ordinary passport holders to enter for tourism or short visits for up to 14 days without any visa. This is confirmed by Oman's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Royal Oman Police eVisa portal. At the border, travelers must show a passport valid at least six months, a confirmed return/onward ticket, hotel reservation, valid health insurance, and proof of sufficient funds. The 14-day exemption cannot be extended or converted to a residence visa. Travelers needing a longer stay (or multiple entries) should instead apply online for an Oman eVisa (Tourist Visit Visa) before travel: a 10-day eVisa costs about 5 OMR, a 30-day eVisa about 20 OMR, and a 1-year multiple-entry eVisa about 50 OMR. Oman is not in the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. For a standard short tourist trip within two weeks, no action is required before flying beyond carrying the supporting documents; for stays beyond 14 days, secure the eVisa in advance.
