Do Japan passport holders need a visa to visit Thailand?

Visa-free up to 30 days from May 2025. TDAC digital arrival card mandatory. Japanese ordinary passport holders enter Thailand visa-free for up to 30 days per entry as of May 2025, after Thailand reduced its temporary 60-day visa-free policy. The 30-day stay is extendable once for another 30 days at a Thai immigration office (THB 1,900 fee). All foreign visitors must complete the free Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) online before arrival — paper arrival cards have been phased out. Japanese passports must be valid for at least 6 months on the date of entry.
