India to Taiwan (Chinese Taipei) visa requirements

Visa required. Indian ordinary passport holders are not on Taiwan's visa-exempt list and should obtain a visitor visa before travel unless they qualify for the online ROC Travel Authorization Certificate (TAC). The TAC is available only to eligible Indians with specified valid or recently expired third-country/ROC visas or residence documents, is valid for 90 days, and permits 14 days per entry. Indian ordinary passport holders need advance permission to visit Taiwan. BOCA's visa-exempt list does not include India, so the baseline route is a Republic of China (Taiwan) visitor visa applied for with BOCA's online form and submitted to the relevant ROC overseas mission, such as TECC in India. BOCA's visitor-visa page lists passport validity of at least six months, a completed form with two recent photos, outbound air or sea ticket proof, visit-purpose evidence, and other requested documents; visitor visas may be issued for 14, 30, 60, or 90 days, with overseas fees of USD 50 single-entry or USD 100 multiple-entry. Taiwan also has a conditional online TAC route for nationals of India, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam. Under the current NIA application flow, an Indian applicant needs a regular passport valid six months from arrival, onward/return air or ferry ticket, no migrant-worker history in Taiwan, no Taiwan immigration/legal violation record, and either a qualifying visa/residence document from the US, Canada, UK, EU/Schengen, New Zealand, Australia, Japan, or Korea, or an ROC visa/resident certificate issued in the past 10 years. The TAC allows multiple entries during its 90-day validity, a 14-day stay from the day after arrival, and no more than six TAC entries per calendar year. Taiwan's standard eVisa portal does not provide a general individual-tourist eVisa for ordinary Indian passport holders; Indians are listed only for specific approved group-tour or TAITRA-recommended business eVisa cases. Since 1 October 2025, foreign travelers entering Taiwan with a visitor visa or under visa exemption must complete the free online Taiwan Arrival Card (TWAC) within three days before arrival.
