India to South Korea visa requirements

Visa required. Indian ordinary passport holders are not K-ETA eligible and must obtain a C-3-9 ordinary tourist visa before travel. Indian ordinary passport holders need a visa before visiting South Korea for tourism. K-ETA is only for nationals eligible to enter Korea without a visa; India is absent from the official K-ETA eligible-country list, and the temporary K-ETA exemption extended through 31 December 2026 applies to 22 countries/regions, not India. For ordinary tourism, apply for Short-Term General / Ordinary Tourist (C-3-9), normally allowing stays under 90 days. Complete the Korea Visa Portal e-form, then submit the printed/barcoded application, passport, photo, fee, and supporting documents to the Korean mission or authorized visa application center with jurisdiction. The Korea Visa Portal's individual e-Visa route is limited to selected categories and does not replace mission/VAC submission for ordinary Indian tourist C-3-9 applications. In India, the published fee table lists INR 3,400 for short-term single entry and INR 7,650 for multiple entry, plus visa-application-center service charges where used. Plan for at least 10 working days after the application reaches the mission, and longer if the post asks for extra documents or an interview.

by frequency
/01
Insufficient ties to India
Weak employment, study, family, or financial ties can make the trip purpose and return plan less convincing.
Medium
/02
Incomplete documentation
Missing bank statements, occupation proof, ITRs, forms, or an unclear itinerary can delay or weaken the application.
Medium
/03
Wrong application route
Ordinary tourist applicants should not treat the Korea Visa Portal e-form as a complete online e-visa; VAC/mission submission is still required unless the post says otherwise.
Medium
/04
Past Korean overstays
Any prior overstay or immigration violation can heavily affect future visa applications.
Low
/05
Suspected work or study intent
C-3-9 tourism does not cover employment or study. Use the correct D, E, or other category for those purposes.
