Indonesia to Laos visa requirements

No visa needed. Indonesian ordinary passport holders can enter Laos visa-free for up to 30 days for tourism under the ASEAN reciprocal visa-exemption arrangement. As of 2026, holders of an ordinary Indonesian passport do not need a visa to visit Laos for tourism or short stays. Under the ASEAN intra-regional visa-waiver framework, Indonesian citizens are granted visa-free entry for up to 30 days per visit. Entry is granted on arrival at international airports and major land border crossings simply by presenting the passport; no advance application, eVisa, or visa-on-arrival sticker is required. To be admitted, travelers should hold a passport valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay, with at least one blank page, and be able to show proof of onward or return travel and sufficient funds. The 30-day visa-free stay can typically be extended once for an additional 30 days at a Lao immigration office inside the country for a fee. Travelers who plan to stay longer than the combined exemption-plus-extension period, work, study, or conduct business should instead obtain the appropriate visa in advance (Laos also offers an eVisa and visa-on-arrival for non-exempt nationalities, but Indonesians do not need these for short tourism).
