Do Indonesia passport holders need a visa to visit BD?

Indonesian ordinary passport holders can get a Bangladesh Visa on Arrival (VOA) for tourism at major ports of entry. It is single-entry, valid for up to 30 days, and costs USD 51. Indonesia is on Bangladesh's official VOA-eligible list, but issuance is at the immigration officer's discretion, so carry full supporting documents. As of 30 May 2026, Indonesia is on Bangladesh's list of countries eligible for a Visa on Arrival (VOA) for tourism, business, and investment. An Indonesian ordinary passport holder arriving for a short tourist visit can obtain the VOA at designated international airports (notably Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Dhaka) and other approved ports. The VOA is single-entry, permits a maximum stay of 30 days (extendable by up to 30 more days at the Department of Immigration and Passports in Dhaka), and costs USD 51 payable in cash, with U.S. dollars strongly preferred. Bangladesh does not yet operate a true online e-Visa; an online MRV form portal (visa.gov.bd) exists to pre-fill embassy applications, but it is not an automatic electronic authorization. Bangladesh is not part of the Schengen area, so the 90/180 short-stay rule and ETIAS do not apply. Because VOA approval is at the sole discretion of the immigration officer, travelers should carry a confirmed return/onward ticket, hotel booking, proof of sufficient funds (around USD 500 or equivalent), and a passport valid for at least six months. Travelers who prefer certainty can instead apply for a tourist visa in advance at the Bangladesh Embassy in Jakarta.
