Do France passport holders need a visa to visit OM?

French (FR) ordinary passport holders can enter Oman visa-free for tourism for up to 14 days. France is on Oman's "first group" unconditional exemption list, so no eVisa is needed for short visits. For stays beyond 14 days, an eVisa from the Royal Oman Police is required. As of May 2026, holders of an ordinary French passport do not need a visa to visit Oman for tourism or short business trips of up to 14 days. France is included in Oman's "first group" of roughly 100+ nationalities granted unconditional visa exemption (no prior visa, no eVisa, and no requirement to hold a third-country visa). Travelers simply arrive at an Omani port of entry, where the 14-day stamp is issued. The exemption is non-extendable and cannot be converted into a residence permit. To qualify, the passport must be valid for at least 6 months on arrival, and travelers should be able to show a return/onward ticket, confirmed accommodation, health insurance, and sufficient funds. If a French traveler intends to stay longer than 14 days, they must apply in advance for a tourist eVisa through the official Royal Oman Police portal (evisa.rop.gov.om): a 10-day single-entry visa costs 5 OMR, a 30-day single-entry visa 20 OMR, and a 30-day multiple-entry visa 50 OMR. Oman is not in the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply here.
