France to Thailand visa requirements

Visa-free up to 60 days for French tourists as of 2026-06-20; TDAC is mandatory within 72 hours before arrival. Thailand has approved a future cut to 30 days, but it takes effect only after Royal Gazette publication plus 15 days. French ordinary passport holders can enter Thailand visa-free for up to 60 days for tourism under the P.60 Tourist Visa Exemption Scheme. France remains on the Thai MFA's 60-day exemption list as of this check, and France Diplomatie's entry page plus its 4 June 2026 alert still state that French travellers currently do not need a visa for stays up to 60 days. However, Thailand's Cabinet has approved a revision that will end the 60-day scheme and restore shorter categories after publication in the Royal Gazette plus 15 days, so travellers should re-check before departure. All non-Thai arrivals must submit the free Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) online within 72 hours before entering Thailand unless they remain airside in transit or use a Border Pass. Travellers should carry a French passport valid at least 6 months from entry, a clean/undamaged passport, onward or return travel within the permitted stay, accommodation details, and funds if asked (France Diplomatie cites THB 20,000 per person in cash). A 30-day in-country extension may be requested at Thai Immigration for THB 1,900 at the officer's discretion. For stays beyond the visa-free stamp and extension, work, study, retirement, family, or other non-tourism purposes, apply through the Thai e-Visa system under the Royal Thai Embassy in Paris; the honorary consulates in Lyon, Marseille, and Monaco no longer issue Thai visas.
