France to United Arab Emirates visa requirements

French ordinary passport holders do not need an advance UAE visa. They receive a free arrival stamp allowing up to 90 days within a 180-day period. French citizens holding an ordinary passport are exempt from arranging a UAE visa before departure for short visits. France Diplomatie says a stamp issued on arrival at Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Sharjah airports authorizes a maximum stay of 90 days, in one or several trips, over a 180-day period counted from the stamp date. UAE MoFA lists the French Republic as visa-free, GDRFA Dubai lists France among nationalities that can get a visa on arrival, and Emirates lists France in its free multiple-entry 90-day visit eligibility group. The passport must be in good condition and valid for at least 6 months on the date of entry; French emergency passports are not recognized for UAE entry, and passports missing a precise day/month/year birthdate or showing X in place of a name, given name or birthdate can be refused. Work, residence, study and long stays require the correct UAE status. ICP lists an AED 50 per-day fine when the permitted stay expires.
