Do France passport holders need a visa to visit BZ?

French (FR) ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for tourist or short visits to Belize. You may enter visa-free and stay up to 30 days, which can be extended locally. You must complete the online iDeclare form before arrival and hold a passport valid for at least 3 months, proof of onward travel, and sufficient funds. France is on Belize's visa-exempt list, confirmed by the Belize Immigration & Nationality Department. French ordinary passport holders can enter Belize without a visa for tourism and are granted an initial stay of up to 30 days at the discretion of the immigration officer. Stays beyond 30 days require a Visitor's Permit Extension obtained from a local Belize immigration office for BZ$200 per additional 30-day period (rising for longer cumulative stays). Since December 2024, all travelers must complete the mandatory online iDeclare digital embarkation/disembarkation and customs form before arrival; the system was rolled out to all ports of entry by January 2025. There is no visa fee, but a departure tax applies on exit: approximately US$73.50 at Philip Goldson International Airport (usually bundled into the airfare) or BZ$40 / US$20 at land and sea borders. Travelers should carry a passport valid for at least 3 months beyond arrival (airlines may require 6 months), a confirmed onward or return ticket, and proof of sufficient funds (commonly cited as around US$75 per day). Belize is not in the Schengen area and ETIAS does not apply to this route.
