Spain to Rwanda visa requirements

Spanish ordinary passport holders need a visa for Rwanda. The easiest route is the online eVisa (Tourist Visa V1) via the IremboGov portal: USD 50 for single entry, valid for a 30-day stay. Visa on arrival at Kigali airport and land borders is also available at the same fee. Spain does not qualify for Rwanda's fee-free waiver (African Union / Commonwealth / La Francophonie members) or the all-nationality visa-free schemes. Rwanda requires Spanish citizens to hold a visa for tourism. Although Rwanda issues a visa on arrival to all nationalities without prior application, Spain is not among the countries entitled to a free or visa-exempt entry, so a fee applies. The standard tourist option is the Visitor Visa (V1), available either as an eVisa applied for online through the official IremboGov platform or obtained on arrival at Kigali International Airport and at land borders. Both cost USD 50 for single entry (or USD 70 for multiple entry), grant a 30-day stay (90 days for multiple entry), and require a passport valid for at least six months. The eVisa is the recommended channel because approval is confirmed before departure, typically within 1-3 business days. Rwanda is in East Africa and is not part of the Schengen Area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply to this route.
