Spain to Paraguay visa requirements

Spanish ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for Paraguay. Spain is on Paraguay's visa-exemption list and citizens may stay up to 90 days for tourism, extendable once by a further 90 days at the immigration office. Spain is one of the 64+ countries (including all EU/Schengen states) whose ordinary passport holders enter Paraguay visa-free for tourism. On arrival, a Spanish citizen presenting a valid passport is granted a short-stay tourist entry of up to 90 days. The 90-day allowance is a rolling allowance rather than a per-calendar-year cap, and it can be extended once for a further 90 days by applying to Paraguay's Directorate General of Immigration (Direccion General de Migraciones) before the original stamp expires. Paraguay is a South American country and is NOT part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply to entering Paraguay; ETIAS is a separate scheme that affects Paraguayan citizens travelling to Europe, not Spaniards travelling to Paraguay. Standard entry conditions apply: a passport valid for at least 6 months on arrival, an onward or return ticket, proof of accommodation and evidence of sufficient funds for the stay. No visa fee is charged for a visa-free tourist entry. There were no 2024-2026 policy changes removing Spain's visa-free access; Paraguay has been broadly expanding (not restricting) its visa-waiver list.
