Spain to Nicaragua visa requirements

Spanish ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for tourism in Nicaragua. You can enter visa-free for up to 90 days; you only buy a US$10 tourist card on arrival. Spain is on Nicaragua's visa-exemption list, and this remained unchanged after Nicaragua's major visa overhaul (Disposicion 002-2026) that took effect on 16 February 2026. While that reform eliminated visa-on-arrival for more than 120 nationalities and pushed them into a "consulted visa" (Category C) requiring pre-approval from Managua, citizens of the European Union, the United States, Canada, the UK, Switzerland, Japan and Australia all retained their visa-free status (around 69 jurisdictions in total). Spanish tourists therefore enter without any advance visa: just present a passport valid for at least 6 months, purchase a US$10 tourist card on arrival, and show proof of sufficient funds and onward/return travel. The visa-free stay is up to 90 days, extendable once by 30 days for a fee at the immigration office (Migracion y Extranjeria) in Managua. No eVisa, ETA or visa-on-arrival application is required for Spanish nationals. Note that Nicaragua is NOT in the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply to this route.
