Spain to Niger visa requirements

Spanish passport holders need a visa to enter Niger for tourism. Apply in advance at a Nigerien embassy or consulate (Spain has no resident Niger mission, so applications are typically handled via the embassy in Paris or another accredited mission). A yellow fever vaccination certificate is mandatory on arrival. As of mid-2026, Niger requires Spanish (ordinary passport) travelers to obtain a tourist visa before arrival. Spain and the EU are not on Niger's visa-exemption list, which is limited mainly to ECOWAS members and a handful of African states. Although Niger introduced an electronic visa concept in 2019, it is not a reliable, broadly available channel for European applicants, so the conventional route is a sticker visa from a Nigerien diplomatic mission. A limited "visa on arrival" (flyer visa) exists at Niamey airport but only for travelers who have secured prior authorization from Niger's National Police, so it is not a walk-up option. The tourist visa is generally valid for 3 months from issue, available as single or multiple entry, and requires a letter of invitation, accommodation and onward-travel proof, and a valid International Certificate of Vaccination for yellow fever. Passports must be valid at least 6 months beyond the intended stay. Travelers should also note that Niger remains under heightened security advisories; check current travel advice before booking. Niger is not in the Schengen area, so the 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply to this route.
