Spain to New Caledonia visa requirements

Spanish citizens do NOT need a visa for New Caledonia. As an EU national, you enjoy freedom of movement in this French overseas territory and may enter visa-free with just a valid passport. New Caledonia (Nouvelle-Caledonie) is a French overseas sui generis collectivity in the South Pacific. It is part of the French Republic but is NOT in the Schengen Area and is NOT an EU customs territory, so it runs its own entry rules. Because Spain is an EU member state, Spanish passport holders benefit from EU freedom-of-movement rights in Overseas France: they enter visa-free with no time limit on stay, and tourism, transit and short visits require nothing more than a valid passport. There is no eVisa, no visa-on-arrival, no ETA and no ETIAS (ETIAS applies only to non-EU nationals entering the Schengen Area, not to EU citizens, and not to New Caledonia at all). The Schengen 90/180 rule is therefore irrelevant for a Spanish traveller here. Practical requirements remain: a passport valid at least 3 months beyond departure, issued within the last 10 years, with two blank pages; proof of sufficient funds; a return/onward ticket; and travel insurance, which is mandatory for entry to France and Overseas France (covering medical care, hospitalisation, repatriation and medical evacuation). Note that visa-free entry does NOT include the right to work; employment requires a separate work authorisation from the New Caledonian authorities.
