Spain to Mozambique visa requirements

Spanish ordinary passport holders do not need a tourist visa for Mozambique for stays up to 30 days, but since 2025 they must obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) online before travel via the official portal evisa.gov.mz. Apply at least 48 hours (ideally 5 days) before departure. Spain is one of 29 nationalities that Mozambique exempts from short-stay tourist/business visas (visa-free for up to 30 days under Decree No. 10/2023, extendable once for another 30 days in-country). However, visa exemption no longer means you can simply fly in: Mozambique's National Migration Service (SENAMI) now requires visa-exempt travelers to register and obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) before departure through the official portal evisa.gov.mz, which was relaunched in February 2026 in partnership with VFS Global. The Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (exteriores.gob.es) explicitly instructs all Spanish nationals traveling for tourism or business to process the entry permit on the official Mozambique eVisa website before travel, recommending application at least five days in advance, and to keep the payment receipt to present on both entry and exit. Because a mandatory pre-travel online authorization is required even though no consular visa is needed, the correct classification for a short tourist stay is ETA rather than fully visa-free. The associated registration fee is modest (around 650 MZN). Passports must be valid for more than six months and have blank pages. A yellow fever certificate is only required if arriving within three months of visiting a yellow-fever endemic country. Note the ETA system had a brief technical suspension in mid-2025; the conservative, current guidance is to always secure the ETA before boarding, as airlines may check it.
