Spain to Mongolia visa requirements

No visa needed. Spanish (ordinary) passport holders can enter Mongolia visa-free for tourism for up to 30 days, under a policy extended through 1 January 2027. As of June 2026, holders of an ordinary Spanish passport do not need a visa for tourist or short visits to Mongolia. Spain is one of 34 countries (32 European states plus Australia and New Zealand) covered by Mongolia's unilateral visa-exemption program, which permits visa-free stays of up to 30 days. The exemption was first introduced in 2023 as a temporary measure to boost tourism and has been renewed annually; on 31 December 2025 the Mongolian Cabinet extended it again, keeping it valid through 1 January 2027. Mongolia is not a Schengen member, so the Schengen 90/180 short-stay rule and ETIAS do not apply to this route. To enter, your Spanish passport should be valid for at least six months beyond arrival and you should be able to show a return/onward ticket and proof of accommodation if asked. Foreign nationals planning to remain in Mongolia for more than 30 days must register with the Mongolian Immigration Agency in Ulaanbaatar; for visa-free tourists staying within the 30-day limit, no separate registration is required, though hotels and ger camps typically log guests. If you wish to stay beyond 30 days you must apply for an extension or an appropriate visa before your visa-free period expires. Because this is a temporary, periodically renewed policy, confirm it is still in force close to your travel date.
