Spain to Guatemala visa requirements

Spanish (Spain) ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa to visit Guatemala for tourism. They are granted visa-free entry for up to 90 days within any 180-day period, automatically stamped at the port of entry. No application, eVisa, or fee is required. Spain is on Guatemala's visa-exemption list, alongside all EU member states, the US, Canada, the UK and most of Latin America. A Spanish ordinary passport holder may enter Guatemala for tourism without any prior visa and stay up to 90 days within a 180-day period. The permitted stay is shared regionally under the Central America-4 (CA-4) Border Control Agreement between Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua: the 90-day clock starts on first entry to any of the four countries and is not reset by internal crossings. At the border, travelers present a passport valid for at least 6 months, proof of onward/return travel, evidence of sufficient funds, and accommodation details. Entry is for tourism only; paid work or business activity is not permitted on this status. A free 90-day extension can be requested in-country from the Instituto Guatemalteco de Migración (IGM). No 2024-2026 changes affect Spanish nationals; ETIAS applies only in the reverse direction (Guatemalans traveling to Spain/Schengen), not to Spaniards entering Guatemala.
