Spain to Gabon visa requirements

Spanish ordinary passport holders need a visa for Gabon. The recommended route is the official eVisa (entry authorization) applied for online at evisa.dgdi.ga before travel; the visa fee (€70 / 45,000 XAF for 1-3 months) is paid in cash on arrival at Léon Mba International Airport in Libreville. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is mandatory. Gabon is not visa-free for Spanish (EU) ordinary passport holders, and it is not in the Schengen area, so no 90/180 or ETIAS rules apply. Spaniards must hold a visa to enter. The Gabonese immigration authority (DGDI) operates an official eVisa portal (evisa.dgdi.ga) that issues an electronic entry authorization, typically within about 72 hours of application. The eVisa is valid only for travelers arriving via Léon Mba International Airport (LBV) in Libreville. Under the current system the entry authorization is approved online, but the actual visa fee must be paid in cash on arrival at the airport when the visa sticker is delivered: €70 (or 45,000 XAF) for a 1-3 month stay, or €185 (120,000 XAF) for a 6-month multiple-entry visa, plus a small processing charge; payment in US dollars is not accepted. Gabon has been moving toward integrating online electronic payment, but as of mid-2026 travelers should plan to carry euros or CFA francs in cash. EU nationals, including Spaniards, also have a technical visa-on-arrival eligibility, but obtaining the eVisa entry authorization in advance is strongly recommended because it confirms approval before boarding and reduces the risk of being denied check-in or entry. Entry also requires a passport valid at least six months with a blank page, a yellow fever vaccination certificate (mandatory for all travelers over 9 months old), proof of accommodation, a return ticket, and proof of sufficient funds. Final admission is always at the discretion of Gabonese border officials.
