Spain to Cyprus visa requirements

No visa. As a Spanish (EU) citizen, you have full EU free-movement rights and can enter Cyprus for tourism with just a valid Spanish passport or national ID card (with photo). No visa, ETIAS, or pre-registration is required, and there is no fixed limit on a tourist stay. Spain and Cyprus are both European Union member states, so a Spanish ordinary-passport holder travels under EU free movement and needs no visa to visit Cyprus. You may enter with either a valid Spanish passport or a Spanish national identity card bearing a photograph. There is no visa fee, no application, and no entry/exit registration for a short tourist trip. Cyprus is the only EU country besides Ireland that is NOT yet in the Schengen Area (full Schengen accession is targeted for late 2026), so passport/ID checks still occur on flights between Cyprus and Schengen states. However, because you are an EU citizen, the Schengen 90/180-day short-stay limit does not restrict you, and the EU's ETIAS travel authorisation never applies to EU nationals. For genuine tourist visits you can stay freely; only if you intend to reside, work, or stay long term would you register with the Civil Registry and Migration Department after three months. Practical note: from 3 August 2026, only EU-standard biometric national ID cards remain valid for cross-border EU travel, so check your Spanish DNI is current; a valid passport always works.
