Germany to India visa requirements

German ordinary passport holders need an Indian visa before travel. The e-Tourist Visa is available online; current Germany fees are USD 10/25 for 30 days, USD 40 for 1 year, or USD 200 for 5 years, plus 3% bank charge. German ordinary passport holders need a visa to enter India. For tourism, the Government of India e-Visa portal is the official online route at indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa, and the German Foreign Office also says Germans must obtain a visa before entry; visa on arrival is not available to German nationals. Current country-wise e-Tourist fees for Germany are USD 10 for a 30-day eTV in April-June, USD 25 for a 30-day eTV in July-March, USD 40 for a 1-year multiple-entry eTV, and USD 200 for a 5-year multiple-entry eTV, plus a 3% bank charge. The 30-day e-Tourist Visa is valid for 30 days from first arrival and allows double entry. The 1-year and 5-year e-Tourist Visas are multiple-entry, and the official FAQ says maximum stay in India during one calendar year must not exceed 180 days. Apply online at least 4 days before arrival, upload the passport bio page and digital photo, and travel only after the ETA is granted. e-Visa holders must enter through the designated e-Visa points listed by India (33 airports, 33 seaports, and 4 landports on the current list) and may depart from any Indian Immigration Check Post. Separately, foreign nationals and OCI cardholders must complete the free e-Arrival Card online within 72 hours before arrival; it is an arrival form, not a visa. e-Visas are non-extendable and non-convertible, and work, journalism, NGO activity, and longer stays require the correct regular visa.
