Do Canada passport holders need a visa to visit Mexico?

Visa-free up to 180 days with FMM tourist permit. Officer sets your actual length of stay. Canadian ordinary passport holders enter Mexico visa-free for tourism, business meetings, or short visits. The FMM (Forma Migratoria Múltiple) is the standard tourist permit, valid for up to 180 days. Since 2022 the 180 days is no longer automatic — the immigration officer at the port of entry decides the actual length granted, often 30-60 days for casual tourism. Air arrivals at MEX, CUN, GDL, MTY use the digital FMM filed online; land borders still issue paper FMMs. Travellers to Quintana Roo (Cancun, Tulum, Playa del Carmen) also pay the Visitax of about USD 14.
