Australia to Colombia visa requirements

Australian ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for tourism in Colombia. You are granted visa-free entry for up to 90 days on arrival, extendable to a maximum of 180 days per calendar year. You must complete the free online Check-MIG form before boarding (between 72 hours and 1 hour before departure). Colombia exempts holders of Australian ordinary passports from tourist-visa requirements. On arrival, Migracion Colombia stamps a tourist permit ("Permiso de Ingreso y Permanencia") valid for up to 90 days. Colombia is not in the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. The stay can be extended once, in-country, for up to a further 90 days, but a visitor may not remain more than 180 days total within any single calendar year. There is no visa fee, but every traveller (including infants) must complete the mandatory free Check-MIG online registration form on the Migracion Colombia website within the 72-hour-to-1-hour window before each flight in and out. At the border you may be asked to show an onward/return ticket, proof of sufficient funds and accommodation details. Passports should be valid for the duration of stay; many carriers and travellers report a recommended 6 months validity. This is a stable, long-standing arrangement with no 2024-2026 changes affecting Australian citizens; no eVisa, ETA or visa-on-arrival is involved for short tourist visits.
