Australian ordinary passport holders enter Japan visa-free for up to 90 days for tourism, business meetings, and family visits. The passport only needs to be valid for the duration of the stay (no 6-month rule). Visit Japan Web is the recommended digital pre-registration for immigration and customs at HND, NRT, KIX, FUK, CTS, NGO, and OKA. Japan's planned JESTA electronic travel authorization remains targeted for fiscal year 2028 and is not required in 2026.
