The 90/180 cap applies cumulatively across all Schengen states, not per country. The EU's ETIAS travel authorization is expected to begin in the last quarter of 2026, followed by a transitional period of roughly six months, so it is NOT required for trips taken now (as of mid-2026). Once ETIAS launches, eligible Taiwanese travelers will need an approved online authorization (small fee, multi-year validity) before boarding, but this remains a visa-waiver pre-screening, not a visa.
