Taiwan (Chinese Taipei) to Sweden visa requirements

Taiwan ordinary passport holders can visit Sweden visa-free for up to 90 days in any 180-day period for tourism. Sweden is in the Schengen Area, and Taiwan (with passports carrying the holder's national ID number) is on the Schengen visa-exempt list. No visa or pre-authorization is required as of 2026-06-01; ETIAS is not yet in force. The EU's ETIAS travel authorization is expected to begin in the last quarter of 2026, followed by a transitional period of roughly six months, so it is NOT required for trips taken now (as of mid-2026). Once ETIAS launches, eligible Taiwanese travelers will need an approved online authorization (small fee, multi-year validity) before boarding, but this remains a visa-waiver pre-screening, not a visa.
