In 2025-2026 Sri Lanka rolled out a free 30-day tourist ETA for 40 designated countries (effective 25 May 2026), but Taiwan is not among them, and Taiwan is not a SAARC country. Taiwan therefore falls under the "Other Countries" category, paying the standard tourist ETA processing fee of US$50 for an online application. The tourist ETA permits a stay of up to 30 days from arrival, allows double entry, and the passport must be valid for at least six months. Approval is normally issued by email within 24-72 hours. Travelers should apply only through the official portal eta.gov.lk to avoid third-party markups. Verdict: visa-required via ETA (eta).
