A Philippine ordinary passport holder needs an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) before traveling to Sri Lanka for tourism. The Tourist ETA grants a stay of up to 30 days with double-entry validity, and is normally approved within 24-72 hours, sometimes longer. Travelers should carry a passport valid at least 6 months with two blank pages, proof of onward/return ticket, accommodation details, and sufficient funds. Sri Lanka is not in the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. Because the Philippines is excluded from the free-visa cohort and a separate authorization is required, the correct verdict is "eta" (a mandatory pre-arrival electronic authorization that carries a fee for Filipinos).
